Wheelchair accessible Tree Tops Walkway Avondale Beyond the Trees

We want everyone to have a thoroughly enjoyable time here at Beyond the Trees Avondale, so we have put measures in place to ensure we provide you with accessible support throughout your visit.

On arrival, the first parking bays in our carpark are dedicated disabled parking bays designated for exclusive use by disabled parking permit holders. There is a drop off point at the entrance to the visitor centre for any visitors that have mobility challenges. Age Friendly parking is also available in the first section of the carpark which is clearly marked and provided for people of any age who need some extra space.

Our new visitor centre has been designed to ensure universal access, featuring entry ramps and an accessible lift in the building. There are also generously appointed accessible toilets and baby changing facilities provided, including a fully equipped Changing Places room. Please check you visitor map for locations.

We have some manually operated wheelchairs at the disposal of our visitors for use onsite. Please ask one of our team members at reception on arrival should you require the use of one of these during your visit. The Treetop Walk and Viewing Tower are both fully accessible for wheeled access. There is a gentle incline on the levels of the viewing tower during your ascent, however it is no greater than a 6 percent gradient throughout the entire Treetop Walk and Viewing Tower.

Please note that motorised mobility scooters are not suitable for use on the Treetop Walk. You can request a loan of one of our onsite wheelchairs should you require one during your visit.

Visitors with special needs can bring along one accompanying carer free of charge when they purchase a ticket for the visitor experiences at Beyond the Trees Avondale.

The sensory garden located in the courtyard area is designed to be a welcoming space to both children and adults especially those who have sensory processing challenges, including autism, physical disabilities, and dementia. Visitors can focus on one sense or incorporate all of them and time spent in the sensory garden is extremely therapeutic.

Guide dogs are welcome throughout.

Should you have any queries regarding access for people with special needs please contact us directly on enquiry@beyondthetreesavondale.com or by phone 0404 46 111 and a member of our team will share the relevant information with you.
